Non-crafty post - Disney half marathon weekend

Hello friends,
I hope everyone's been doing well since I last posted.  This post isn't really craft related but I will definitely scrapbook this memorable moment.  This past weekend I went to Disney to participate in Disney's Princess half marathon.  My goal for last year (2010) was to run a half marathon.  I did it October 2010.  It was an amazing feeling of accomplishment. It came and went and here I am finishing my 2nd one.  My legs are still in pain but the rest of me feels great.  I felt like a princess getting my medal.  My kids are convinced that I came in 2nd place and my friend Lili was in first.
I could not have done this without my friends/running partners.  Also my supportive hubby who slept on the couch every Friday night because I would drag my kids to bed with me (they fall asleep quick when they sleep with mommy) so that I could wake up at 5am on Saturdays.  All that training was well worth it.  I had a blast!

Phineas and Ferb Madness

Who's hungry for cupcakes?  Look at these adorable cupcake toppers!!  I'll make these using any theme along with the matching banner.

For these I used my computer to print out the images.  Then used a 1.5" punch.  I used the Accent Essentials cartridge for the scallops.  I cut out 2 scallops for each topper.  I glued the image to the first scallop then hot glued the sticks in between the scallops.  This gives it a little more dimension and you can't see the stick from behind.  I loved seeing these come together.  They're going to look great on the cupcakes.

Ribbon Mess Giveaway

Hi!  I finally got a system in place and have organized my ribbons.  I actually repurposed a utensil tray and a bead organizer for scraps.  it worked out nicely.  I decided to include everyone in the giveaway since you all had such great ideas.  This system works for me now but I'm sure I'll outgrow it soon.  :)  Pictures to come...(including pics of the giveaway)  sorry, haven't been able to download them and I didn't want to keep you guys waiting anymore.

The first is the shelf from Michaels that has two dowels on it. When I only had 60 rolls or so, I was able to fit them all there. As I started getting $1 deals and such, I started to put them in a drawer in my IKEA chest. They stay pretty organized in there. I use pins to keep the ribbon from unraveling. I also have a basket (similar to a mini laundry basket) that I got at Dollar Tree. I keep the 25 yard spools there. They usually stay in place. Finally, I have a clear paint gallon container that I keep the ribbon scraps in. That way, i can see whatever cuts I have.

I have been thinking of using the IKEA hanging wire baskets. They are the perfect size for the regular rolls.

Super easy Valentine Treat bags

Good Morning crafty friends (and also my non-crafty ones who are forced to follow me)  :)

I know I'm a little late posting this but you can modify these to any type of party or holiday.  Made these treat bags for my kids's class.  Can you guess what they're into?  For the Batman sign I used the "Batman Cartridge"  I cut it in yellow and used the shadow feature for the black.  I did the sentiment on the computer and then used a 1 1/2 inch punch and adhered it to the bag.  For the Karate guy, I used the Sports Mania cartridge.  (this is one of my fav. carts.  We are big sports fans here so I use it frequently)  I also used the shadow feature in black so that it looks like he has a black belt.  I made this cards since my son wanted to write his name in it.  The sentiment was also done on the computer.  Cut it out and adhered to the card.  I ran both the Batman sign and Mr. Karate through my Cuttlebug using the Sizzix Valentines folders.  Oh and I also filled up the bags with YUMMY YUMMY candy.

Ribbon Mess/giveaway

So, I was going through my ribbon stash and realized that it takes me too long to find what I'm looking for. Here are a couple of pics of this MIESS.  I've tried the boxes where you pull the ribbon through but it just seems to get all tangled up.  I've tried keeping it organized in bins and its the same problem.
