Flowers!!!

Happy Friday!!  I'm so happy the weekend is finally here.  So I'm all about flowers these days.  I've seen so many people make their own flowers I figured I should try it out.  Let me know what you think.  Personally I think they came out pretty good for a 1st timer.  Inspired by Tim Holtz...He uses a Sizzix die cut flower.  I use my Plantin Schoolbook Cricut cartridge.  There's a really cute flower on there.  To color them I used "fake" glimmer mist.  I'll do another post one of these days on how to make "fake" glimmer mist.  Enjoy.

1st photo - displays the flowers after I cut them with the Cricut.
2nd photo - cut one petal off and two petals of the other. Take one corner of the cut flowers and glue it to the other side.  forgot to photograph this step but basically it forms a bud.  You'll see what i mean in the next couple of pics.
3rd & 4th photo - take a pencil or back of a paint brush and roll the petals back.  This is where you finally see them looking like roses.   so cute!!
5th & 6th photo -  cut the back tip slightly(not pictured) to be able to glue and stack each layer.
7th photo - use the petals that you cut off to fill in the center of the flowers.  Feel free to use a brad or button in the center.
8th photo - my finished product along with two others that I made.

National Scrapbook Day-Did you even know it exists?

The big day is MAY 1st. It's all over the scrapbooking blog world. I had no idea there was a National Scrapbook Day until I started shopping online. Apparently this is a HUGE ordeal! You can get great sales at your local store and online stores. A couple of stores I love to shop at are:
Custom Crops.com
Ohmycrafts.com
Michaels (the one in Homestead is great)
Scrapbooks & Stuff (near the Falls shopping center)

If you check out my right side bar there are a bunch of blogs I follow that are offering all sorts of goodies/giveaways all day long. Most of the time all you have to do is become a follower and post a comment. I'd love to do something special for that day but I'm not quite to the point where I can afford to do giveaways. I'm more into wanting to win the giveaway. :)  I will however make a very very BIG announcement on Saturday.  I can tell you today but I think I'll wait until May 1 and make it more dramatic.  :)  Have a great day!!

Last one!! I'm done with weddings for now.

Hello everyone!  Happy Hump Day!  Been busy the last few days so I haven't had a chance to post.  So here's the last of the wedding layouts I made for my in-laws album.  I still have to print the pics.  Once I do that I'll post a slide show of the entire album.  It very very simple...its going to have 5 picstures.  One large one on the top right and then four smaller ones all around.  The pics are only of the couple in different poses.  I"ll post the finished one as soon as I have the pics.  If there's room for more embellishments I'll add them on there too.  Here you go enjoy.
