Christmas recap/using my Imagine/Valentine's Day

Happy Monday!
I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday weekend.  I had a wonderful time sharing with family and friends.  One of my favorite moments was the excitement in my kid's faces when they opened their gifts from "Santa".  I love how they look when they first wake up with their PJ's and messy sleep hair.

During the holidays I got an order for 2 identical 12x12 scrapbooks by Christmas Eve.  It was for a friend so I gladly accepted the challenge.  I created 36 pages in one week.  A bit challenging with two kids running around but they behaved great.  They even helped me out.  Here are just a couple of pages and images from the book.  I moved my Imagine machine to my craft area and used it throughout the book along with my regular expression cartridges.

On to Valentine's Day.  I'm not even near ready for another holiday, but as I browse through blog world I keep seeing more and more Valentine's related posts.  I'm not quite there yet but have some great ideas brewing in my head.  Will start posting soon.

Enjoy the photos and I hope everyone has a wonderful New Year.  All the best for 2011!!!

Decorative Letters

Hi!  I know its been a while.  The holidays are pretty crazy.  I've been really busy with some last minute shopping and orders I've been trying to finish.  Wanted to post a pic of one of my latest projects.  Made these for a client for her twin girl's bedroom. She liked them so much that she wants me to make the rest of their names.  The letters I buy are plain white.  I trace and use an exacto knife to cut the paper I'm going to use.  Then I use permanent spray adhesive to adhere the paper to the letter.  I sand down the edges to even them out, inked around them and then use modge podge to seal it.  Then I embellish it according to what the client would like.  They are super fun to make and I love to see the finished product.  I used the gypsy wanderings cartridge for the butterfly.  for the life of me I can't remember what cart I got the grass from.  :(  the pink ribbon is from none other than Martha Stewart.  The flowers I believe are primas.   have a great night everyone!!

Good Luck and Hello Christmas cards

Can't believe how quickly this year has gone by. To all those that venture out on Black Friday...GOOD LUCK!  I hope you find everything you're looking for.  I'm not that brave.

I didn't make any crafts for Thanksgiving but for Christmas I have so many ideas.  Here's one I just started.  I will be selling these at a local craft fair.  It will be the first time I participate in one so I'm a little nervous.   The cards come in packs of 12 including envelopes.  I'm also going to be making a Christmas banner, tags, more cards and hopefully alter a frame or two.  Have a great day!!

If you're interested in stopping by the craft fair.  here's the info:

these were delicious.  made with reeses peanut butter cups, M&M's, candy corn.

these cupcakes were too cute to eat!

yummy!!
my first pumpkin pie...ok, I'll admit it.  I bought a mix but it was still delicious.
my very much needed glass of wine.

so i didn't take a picture of the turkey..it wasn't really the actual turkey.  I made a turkey breast tenderloin with some Basmati rice.  it was delicious.

Babies are FALLing

Ok...so I had time to post something else before I begin the mad dash through kids birthday parties.  I have a dear friend who is having twins.  Her baby shower just past and I helped out with the invites and favors.  In keeping with the fall season.  We used my "old faithful" "Stretch Your Imagination" cricut cartridge to make the little pumpkins on the invites and the leaves on the favor bags.  The card was for the gift I gave her.  I used my Imagine machine. (Nursery Tails cartridge)

inside of card
here's the shadow

we cut the pumpkins using the silhouette feature and laid them  on top.  Added the eyes and the mouths. (that process took FOREVER!)  phew!!

Here's the final product.  Cuteness!!!
These are the favors which contained a really cute fall scented candles in them.

My big win and a big Thank you

Thank You!!

Hello!  Here are a couple of cards I made a few weeks ago.  I had so much fun making them.
For this card I used my Imagine cart (Imagine more??) for the coffee cup and background.  I distressed the edges of the blue mat and chalked all the edges with brown.  If you look closely the blue paper is embossed with circles.  (bought it like that)  I added some Martha Stewart Ribbon and stickled(is that even a word?) the smoke coming up from the coffee)  The sentiment is from the $1 racks at Michaels.  I just love how this came out.  I hope the person I sent it to enjoyed it just as much.

Can you believe it??  I didn't use my Cricut or Imagine for this lovely card.  I used all scraps!!!   The top layer of the flower was originally white.  I chalked it up in brown and added a nice big brad in the center.  I also chalked around the tag that I made and stamped my sentiment using My Pinker Stamper stamps.

Happy Post Halloween

Hi!

I know you must be over Halloween already but I was too lazy to download pics. (lol)  I admit, I'm an excellent procrastinator.  For those of you who  never tire of this holiday here are some treat bags I made for my kids classes.  It's a super easy and affordable treat.  The only things I bought were a few candies, some Halloween treats and the brown bags.  All very affordable.  The rest was from my stash.  I hope you enjoy it.  The pumpkins were cut on my Cricut using the Stretch your Imagination cartridge.

Provocraft really fooled me.

Provocraft really fooled me!  It says MAC Download and underneath it (in barely readable writing)  it says "coming soon"  How disappointing.  So much for a happy dance.

My apologies!  When the real download comes out I'll let you know.

Cricut Cake Mini Demonstration

Seriously? How many things is Provo Craft going going to come out with.  I really can't keep up anymore.  If you MUST have it....you may want to consider the Cricut Cake (the bigger version).  But if you're into just making cookies and cupcakes and small scale stuff then this is just fine for you.

The Cricut at work! Happy Birthday Banner

Happy Monday!  I'm one of the few that loves Mondays.  They help me start my routine again.  A new beginning!  Mondays help me forget all the the bad things I ate last week.

Wanted to show you a SUPER cute birthday banner I made with my friend for her daughter's 1st birthday. She's on my facebook and I see a post on my newsfeed from her saying something like:  "I hate cutting this...wish I had a Cricut!"  So the obsessed scrapbooker in me ran over to her house.   I won't take the full credit for this.  The original idea came from Etsy.  Someone was selling a banner VERY similar to this for $40.00!!  It was beautiful and also made out of paper.  This is my version of it.  A few little tweeks here and there....

The letters and circles are from Plantin Schoolbook.  Scallop rectangles & scallop circles are from Accent Essentials.
