What table are you sitting in?

Hello!  I hope you are all having a remarkable week.  A few months ago I was asked to make some invitations and a seating chart for a December wedding.  Well, the wedding is this coming weekend.

She didn't want the traditional tent cards all lined up on a table.  She wanted something a little nicer.  Me being me, I never say no to anything and although I had never made a seating chart quite like this, I was fairly confident in my abilities.  So I started researching and researching.  Time went by and before I knew it she was sending me the list of guests.  I had the idea in my head now i just had to create it.  I thought about using poster board and quickly changed my mind. (it just looked too cheap)  So I went with a 16x20 canvas. here are the pics with a few descriptions.  ENJOY!
empty canvas.....

it was stark white!  This baby needed color.

started gathering my materials.  I used Tim Holtz distress inks Antique linen
Vintage Photo.  used some card stock with coordinating ribbon, coffee filters.....

Here is the guest list with their table.  I created this little template
using GIMP software.  I then matted it to card stock

My first attempt at a coffee filter flower.  I used some
glimmer mists and distress inks until I got the look I was
looking for.
Here's a close up of the flower completed.
added this brad in the middle and I think it gave it the perfect touch.
These were tough to put on!  I also glimmer misted the letters
to give them a little shimmer.  although I don't think you can
see that here.

TA-DA!!!  I cut the letters out using my Silhouette Cameo.
It was great to be able to cut out using my own font.

Calendar Blog Hop

Click here for Tanya's Surprise birthday blog hop.

Happy Friday everyone!!  Welcome to my blog and the Calendar Blog Hop hosted by ScrappyZeni.  This isn't your usual type of hop.  We have a whole group of VERY talented ladies.  If you've just arrived from Monica's blog Scraps 2 Treasures then you're on the right track.  If you just happen to see this post then go ahead and start from the beginning by clicking on the button below.  You won't be sorry!  Lots of great ideas here.

For my  project, I made a birthday calendar that I can hang up.  What better way to remember someone's birthday than in a pretty handmade calendar.  I used my silhouette cameo for the tags and months.  I used an old frame that was just laying around.  I distressed it with some black soot and vintage photo.  The background paper is from a DCWV stack I've had for a while.  It was originally a plain bluish color and I stamped around the entire page to give it a vintage feel  For the tags, I used again my Tim Holtz distressed inks vintage photos for the edges and orange marmalade.  I also used it for the top sign.  The flowers are from my stash.  I ran two strings across to hang the tags.  The mini clothespin are from YEARS ago. (when I first started crafting)  I always thought they would come in handy so I never threw them out.  :)  I also stamped the tags with the lines and borders.  This way I can write down the names of people's birthdays in each month.    I can't wait to hang this on my wall.
ENJOY!!  Apologies for the quality of the pics.  Hope to get better ones up soon.
Your next stop is the talented Elsa at Cricut LVR

Hello and welcome to Tanya's Surprise Birthday Blog Hop!  If you're here then you just came from Christina's blog.  If you just happened to visit please join us in wishing Tanya a very happy birthday.  Click on the picture to take you to the beginning.  I want to wish Tanya a very Happy Birthday.  I'm so honored to have been asked to be part of this hop for her.  She's such a great and kind person.  I've really loved getting to know her.  THIS IS FOR YOUR GIRL!!!

For my project I made this card for her.

I embossed it with my cuttlebug and used some tim holtz dyes and color box inks.  Also used some crinkle ribbon.  For the sentiment I punched a 2" circle and distressed it with my tim holtz distresser.  I then inked it with brown all around.  My sentiment is from one of Robyn's from My Pink Stamper collection.  Hope you like it!!

You next stop is Donna at Paper Fusion Arts

OF COURSE THIS HOP HAS BLOG CANDY!!  ScrappyZeni is giving away an Imagine cartridge. Run and comment over there and make sure to leave a comment on all the blogs.  There will be one lucky person chosen to win some great blog candy at the end.  It's sponsored by Your Memories Here.  Really cool holiday primas and Tim Holtz distress inks!  YUMMY!

have a great day and hope you enjoy lots of leftovers!!!
